Watching the trailer, looks like Alia Bhatt is back to impress us with her acting skills. After a strong performance in Highway, we didn't really see the best of her in the recent past with Shaandaar and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya. Her latest release, Kapoor & Sons did not give her enough of a meaty role for her to show off her acting skills. However, in Udta Punjab, the actress demands your attention with her expressions and de-glam look. And to top it all, she also sports a Bihari accent!
After the disastrous Shaandaar, Shahid needed a film like Udta Punjab. The actor convinces you with his portrayal of a rockstar high on drugs. A few funny instances in the trailer show that although the film deals with a serious issue like drug problem in Punjab, it has its lighter moments.
Kareena Kapoor plays the role of a doctor who is in a fight to stop the practice of selling drugs without prescription. Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh makes his Bollywood debut with this film and has made his presence felt in the trailer. He plays the role of a police officer.
