BIRGUNJ, Jan 22: An unidentified group of armed men gunned down Bara district chief of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Jwala Singh faction) Thursday evening. Munna Ansari also known as Tawarejbhai was shot dead at around 6.15 in the evening in Jhitkaiya village near Nepal-India border, according to district police chief Madhav Joshi. On the suspicion of being involved in Ansari’s murder, locals have caught an Indian national, Shiva Nath Teli and handed him over to police. Ansari was involved in a number of murders and violent activities in the district. Recently, he had owned up killing of Bhawa Nath Pudasaini, a security guard of a factory in Bara. Other armed groups have been competing each other to own up Ansari’s killing.
