Manish was defeated Tuesday by Kantilal Dev rated 2158 in the ninth round and in the final round he shared points with DK Chopra. With a total of 6.5 points he bagged a cash prize of IRs 2,000.
Jeevan Mainali finished second with six points in the unrated category. Jeevan defeated his colleague Bikram Priya and Purushottam Joshi in the last two rounds. He bagged IRs 1,500.
Niraj Niraula finished in 21st spot. He lost to Sarthak Patel rated 2117 in the ninth round and in the final round he edged past Rahul Rajkumar. The players finishing in up to the 20th spot were presented cash prizes.
Likewise, 24th position holder Purushottam Chaulagain beat Narayan Shekhawat in the final round after losing to Atul Dahale in the ninth round.
Milan Rokka added 6 points, Raju Subedi 5.5, Hari Chandra Chaulagain and Bikram Priya 5 each and Man Kumar Gurung 4.5 to their kitties after the final round.
Shashikanta Katuwal of India rated 2319 secured first position in the tournament participated by 142 players from across Nepal and India.
