Investigation into Parsa firing starts

PARSA, Oct. 2: The administration and police have formed separate investigation teams to probe the killing of two locals in police firing at Bhoratar VDC of Parsa district.


Three including an eight-year-old child were killed when Armed Police Force (APF) opened fire in retaliation after villagers took some policemen in hostage on Thursday morning. [break]



The two teams have been constituted under the coordination of Chief District Officer of Parsa Durga Bhandari and Superintendent of Police Rajendra Basnet respectively.



Basnet said the police team has already started investigation.



According to Bhandari, the police first fired in the air and were later compelled to fire in retaliation after the situation went out of control.



Those killed are identified as Jhoti Sah of Bauratar-8, China Sah (17) and Raj Kumar Patel of Hariharpur, police said.
