Around 60 linguists from different 12 countries, including Nepal, India, China, Japan, Pakistan, Tiwan, South Korea and Philippines, have been participating in the conference organised by Communication and Development Research Centre.[break]
The participants will present working paper on the spoken languages that are in existence in their respective countries. They will also hold discussions on the technology based on the spoken languages in the countries.
Similarly, the conference will discuss the developments and problems on dialogues, interaction system mechanism and translation, according to secretary of organising committee Bhim Narayan Regmi.
Speaking in the inaugural session, Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology Dr. Surendra Raj Kafle stressed for incorporating the changes brought by information technology to promote the spoken languages.
Organising committee coordinator Prof. Dr. Jaya Raj Awasthi said the conference has been organised to share new technologies developed in the sectors of language and communication.
Conference coordinator Chiu Yu Chen and coordinator of technical session Dr. Shyam Sundar Agrawal said the gathering should make new strategies to adopt the effects of information technology on the spoken languages.
