Indie Journalism Workshop

KATHMANDU, May 7: Indie Journalism, a collective of young enthusiastic journalism professionals, is bringing together Media experts and media professionals for a workshop scheduled from May 13 to 19.

Six young professionals from various fields in the media are set to tutor and connect with participants at the workshop.[break]

The workshop is being organized in association with Media Port at their office premises located in Bhat Bhateni in Kathmandu.

During the seven-day workshop, the mentors will be involved in imparting their knowledge of their respective fields.



The mentors are Kiran Adhikary, RJ at Radio Kantipur; Laxman Datt Pant, media expert; Shailendra D. Karki, cinematographer; Alok Thapa, RJ at Hits FM; Bipulendra Adhikary, journalist at Republica; and freelancer Pooja Gurung.

They will take classes on topics such as Introduction to Mass Media, Critical Media Analysis, Media Ethics and Folk Media, Visual Communications, Frames and Shots, Radio Communications and Convergent Journalism respectively.

Indie Journalism encourages creative and effective means of information dissemination and works to helping people with stories to come forward.
