KANCHANPUR, June 5: Indian authorities have encroached Nepali land at Jhilmila in Rautelibichawa-9 of southern part of the district by shifting the border pillar into Nepali territory.

Locals said pillar number 28 was shifted few days ago. Local Ram Bahadur Basnet said that the pillar has been fixed in the Nepali land by exposing one feet above the surface.

Similarly, Indian national Guru Dayal Singh (Sardar) of Tantargunj, India, has done sugarcane farming in five bighas of land (near pillar number 29) by encroaching the land of a community forest. Local Dipendra Basnet said Sardar has been farming in the land for four month by saying that the land is located inside the Indian territory.

However, Sub-police Inspector of Belauri Police Office Manohar Chand said he was unaware of the case. He added police personnel have been deployed to find out the facts over the issue.
