BUTWAL (Khasauli), April 24: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae has said his government was positive toward addressing the problems of Nepalis who served in the Indian army.

Addressing a gathering of ex-Indian Army personnel in Butwal Friday, he said the Indian Government should treat equally to its past servicemen. He pledged maximum efforts on his part to ensure benefits to ex-Gurkhas at par with the Indians. Besides, he vowed to take initiatives for settling some of the bilateral problems through the government level.

Nepalis serving in the Indian Army have a significant role in consolidating the bilateral ties, he said, adding that Nepal and India were enjoying friendly relations since a long time and India would leave no stone unturned to strengthen this. CA members Balkrishna Khand, Bishnu Poudel and Dilman Pakhrim praised the contributions of Nepalis in the Indian army. They urged the Indian Government to be serious toward the issues of ex-Gurkhas.
