Although the glitch sent jitters among passengers, KB Limbu, managing director of NAC, said: “It is a minor technical error and loss of one hydraulic system is not disastrous, as there are multiple independent systems to control the plane.” He also informed all passengers inside the plane were safe and it will not affect the regular scheduled flights of NAC.
Limbu also clarified that the accident did not happen because of the old age of the aircraft. “It came back after regular checkup in July last year,” he said. Aircraft are sent for regular checkups after every 15-18 months or after flying for 3,500 or 4,000 hours.
