HSC beat ANFA Academy

BUTWAL, Oct 27: Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) began their campaign on a winning note in the 17th Tilottama Gold Cup Football Tournament, thrashing ANFA Academy 3-0 on Wednesday.



Pukar Gahatraj, Deepak Rai and Amar Pun netted a goal each for HSC at the ANFA Stadium in Butwal.[break]



The competitive first half ended with an injury time penalty awarded to HSC after ANFA´s Prince Byanjankar handled the ball in the box. Gahatraj converted the spot-kick to deal a psychological blow to the opponents.



Rai doubled the lead with another goal for HSC in the 60th minute and Pun sealed the win with a third in the 73rd minute.



Gahatraj was adjudged the best player of the match.



ANFA´s coach Sunil Shrestha said his players lost motivation after conceding the first goal from the spot. HSC will next face Bangladesh Club on Friday.



Thursday´s quarterfinal match will be held between Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club and Nepal Police Club.
