House to resume at 5 p.m. on Monday (Updated)

KATHMANDU, July 6: Parliament is to resume at 5 p.m. Monday, according to Maoist leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai.



This was decided in a meeting between the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) and the Nepali Congress at the residence of NC President Girija Prasad Koirala at Maharajgunj. Bhattarai and Pushpa Kamal Dahal were present in the meeting.



Later, Maoists met with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and other senior leaders of CPN-UML on the issue. Both parties reached an agreement on finding solution to the Maoists´ demands by the prime minister within a month.



According to Bhattarai, if everything goes right, PM Nepal will address the House including the issues of civil supremacy and President Ram Baran Yadav´s decision on army chief. Maoist leader Dahal will also address the House.
