Higer buses hit Nepali roads

KATHMANDU Aug 7: Nepal International Business has introduced China-made Higer buses in the Nepali market.



Chief Secretary Leela Mani Poudyal and Chinese ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai jointly introduced Higer buses in Nepal amid a function on Wednesday.

Officials of Nepal International Business said they were targeting tourism service providers. “Higer buses are comfortable. We are confident that luxurious finishing will make traveling tourists satisfied,” the said. [break]



Dipen Pradhan, senior sales manager of Nepal International Business, said initially they would promote the buses in the Kathmandu Valley only. “We, however, have plans to open sales point in different tourist destinations like Pokhara and Lumbini,” he added.



Issuing a statement, the company said it hoped Higer buses will be popular in Nepal as they suit Nepali topography.

According to the company, the new model of Higer bus delivers mileage of 3.5 km on Nepali roads. Similarly, it has two variants - 29-seater and 35-seater. The new model has features like air conditioning system. It also has other features like luggage compartment with cool air outlet luxurious seat, reverse display monitor, electrophoresis technology and corrosion resistance. The model has ABS break system that resists noise on using break, the statement said.



Pradhan said travel agencies have already made bookings for 10 uses. “We have targeted to sell 50 buses in the first year of the launch,” he added.

Prices of Higer bus start from Rs 6.8 million. Pradhan, however, hinted that prices may vary with the fluctuation in value of US dollar.

The company plans to provide after sales and spare parts services from its outlet in Balaju. It is providing one and half years (equivalent to 120,000 km) on Higer buses.
