KANCHANPUR, June 22: The Bedkot Municipality in Kanchanpur has decided to close schools for four days in view of the excessive heat.
The Chief Administrative Officer Haridatta Bhatta said that the municipality has declared a four-day holiday from tomorrow, Tuesday to Friday, for all schools within the municipality due to extreme weather, keeping students' health in mind.
Similarly, the Bhimdatta Municipality has also decided to give 12 days' holiday in community and institutional schools as the heat continues to rise.

Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality, Mahesh Bahadur Bam, said it has been decided to give the community and institutional schools a combined summer and monsoon break from June 22 to July 3.
Mercury has soared in the Tarai region of Sudurpaschim province, including in Kanchanpur, over the past week. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has urged people to stay alert as there is a possibility of a heatwave in the Tarai districts for the next three days.
