Hearing over Mahara case begins

KATHMANDU, Nov 1: The hearing over attempted rape case against Former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has begun at Kathmandu District on Friday. 

The hearing has started at the single bench of judge Sudarshan Raj Pandey. Earlier today, District Attorney Office produced Mahara before the court.

The district attorney had filed the rape case against Mahara, 25 days after his arrest on complaints of rape attempt by a female staffer at the Federal Parliament Secretariat. 

The court will decide whether to release him on bail or send to jail once the hearing concludes.
