Half dozen vehicles vandalized for defying shutdown

JANAKPURDHAM, March 5: The Madheshi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik), Dhanusha, enforced Janakpur banda or shutdown for the second day today, in protest against what it called police excesses against the party leaders and cadres for no reason.



The banda enforcers vandalized around half a dozen vehicles and some schools for defying the banda here on Tuesday morning.[break]



They vandalized a jeep (Ja 1 Pa 1472) at Shivachowk, a van (Ja 1 Pa 563) at Ramachowk, a tractor and night bus at Pidari chowk, a van at mills area and an Indian jeep near Birgunj Customs Office.



Similarly, the banda enforcers vandalized the Ramjanaki Coaching Centre at Bisahara Chowk, and Bhanu Chowk-based Mithila Montessori School, today.



Normal life in Dhanusha was affected after the government and non-government offices including the educational institutes, industries and banks remained closed due to the banda.
