As per the Community School Improvement Project (CSIP) of the government, the Department of Education (DoE) has directed its district-based education offices to provide the amount to the students and ensure their on-the-job-training.
The DoE has set different amounts for schools based on their geographical complexities, said Project and Budget Division Officer Arjun Dhakal.Beginning with Rs 7,000 for students in the Tarai region and the Valley schools, the amount could go up to Rs 9,000 for those enrolled in hilly region and Rs 12,000 for the students in mountainous region.
To avoid possible misuse of the fund, the department has directed the district education offices to allocate the amount only after proper verification of the students.
Classes for TVET had begun at 99 schools for the students of grade nine and 10 from the last academic session. Some 3,083 technical students appeared in the SLC exams this year.
The CSIP that focuses on improving the infrastructure of the community school has also allocated amount for installing solar energy at the schools so that the practical classes remain unaffected. The public-private partnership would be implemented for the facility for which the government will be providing separate amounts for different subjects, said DoE officer Dhakal.
The government is providing Rs 1,49,000 for upgrading the facilities to teach agriculture, Rs 3,00,000 for computer science and electrical engineering and Rs 1,50,000 for civil engineering.
The schools would spend most of the amount in upgrading the infrastructure and inviting experts to the school to interact with the students.
