KATHMANDU, Jan 19: The International Relations and Labor Committee of Legislature-Parliament has directed the government to inform it about scholarships provided by foreign countries within 15 days.

A meeting of the committee on Tuesday directed the Ministry for Foreign Affairs to apprise the House panel regarding which agency and what procedures are adopted in awarding scholarships to Nepali students.

Committee Chairman Prabhu Sah said the committee asked the ministry to furnish details regarding scholarship stating that no clear criteria has been set and those close to power enjoy such facilities.

“The House panel instructed to systematize scholarship through Ministry for Education,” he said, adding that the committee directed the Education Ministry to provide scholarships through one-door policy.
