Six-day holiday for Dashain, five days for Tihar
KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The government has announced the list of public holidays for the year 2082 BS.
The Ministry of Home Affairs published a notice in the Gazette on Thursday, stating that there will be a total of 28 public holidays from Baishakh 1 (mid-April 2025) to the end of Chaitra (mid-April, 2026).
The list includes six holidays for Dashain and five for Tihar. Additionally, all Saturdays throughout the year will be public holidays.
The government has also designated separate public holidays for specific religions, geographical regions, and locations, including Teej for women.
