Ghale and Sherpa lock horns for NRNA presidency

KATHMANDU, Oct 20: The election between Australian based Sesh Ghale and South Korea based Tenzi Sherpa, is underway after three candidates, who were in the fray for the coveted presidential post, have withdrawn their candidacies.



It is learnt that, on Sunday afternoon, the assembly had only two arch rivals fighting for the presidency after three candidates NRNA Vice President Rameshwar Shah, UK based Hitman Gurung and Ram Pratap Thapa from Germany pulled out their candidacies from the race. [break]



The four-day program  will conclude on Tuesday after the President Dr Ram Baran Yadav will inaugurate the global conference session tomorrow.



Meanwhile, the NRNA has been formally registered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, according to Foreign Secretary Arjun Bahadur Thapa.



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is set to provide the registration certificate to the NRNA tomorrow.
