Saakha & Universal Automobiles - the exclusive distributor of Geely vehicles for Nepal - is planning to introduce the vehicle in Nepal within the next 3-4 months. [break]“As the demand for Geely cars is very good in the Nepali market, we are hopeful that the customers will also love the newly introduced SUV,” said said Prabal Saakha, managing director of Saakha Group´s Automotive Division.
Saakha Group is the parent company of Saakha & Universal Automobiles.
The GX7 has three variants with 1.8 liter, 2 liter and 2.4 liter engines. Geely had launched the GX7 variant with 1.8 liter engine at the Beijing Auto Show. It plans to launch the other two variants in China in the near future. The GX7 will have 6-speed manumatic transmissions developed by Drivetrain Systems International (DSI) which allows convenient driver control of gear selection.

According to Saakha, the GX7 meets Euro New Car Assessment Program (E-NCAP) five-star and China New Car Assessment Program C-NCAP super five-star standards and is fully enclosed with a torpedo-shaped body.
The GX7 measures 4.7m long, 1.85m wide and 1.72m tall with 2.66m wheelbase. It has ground clearance of 172 mm.
“The GX7 is priced between $14,776 and 20,661 in the international. We are yet to determine the price of the vehicle in the Nepali market,” added Saakha.
For children´s safety, the GX7 comes with ISOFIX system. The ISOFIX system is an advanced protection system for child safety, allowing a child seat to be fixed to the vehicles chassis for extra protection. Besides, it has reversing radar, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), six air bags, engine hatch, front fenders and bumpers that ensures safety.
“The knee air bag and anti-flogging device for seats equipped with the model cannot be found in other vehicles of the same class,” informed Saakha.

Seat warmers, steering wheel mounted controls and touchscreen DVD navigation system and six speed automatic options are additional features in the GX7 that will be made available as per the demand of the customers.
