KATHMANDU, June 15: Garbage collection and disposal in the valley will resume from Wednesday following a five-point deal reached between agitating locals of Okharpauwa and the government on Tuesday.

The locals have been obstructing garbage disposal since Friday to press the government for providing compensation for their lands acquired for constructing a supplementary landfill site near Aletar. [break]

According to the deal, the government will start distributing compensation from July 4.
