Four teachers killed, 495 schools damaged in Gorkha

POKHARA, May 8: At least four teachers lost their lives and other 11 have sustained serious injuries in Gorkha district alone in the April 25 devastating earthquake that wreaked havoc in the country.

Likewise, the 7.8 magnitude quake has caused damages to 495 community schools in the district.


The deceased are Indramani Adhikari and Hari Adhikari of Muchchokatar Lower Secondary School, Dev Narayan Devkota of Jharkapuri Primary School and Sarala Gurung of Bhumijyoti Lower Secondary School, informed Assistant District Education Officer Hem Prasad Acahrya.

Likewise, those injured in the quake are Krishna Kumari Bhattarai of Janaprabhat Primary School, Tulsi Adhikari and Shukhala Adhikari of Maledhunga Lakchhi Primary School, Budedehi Bahadur BK and Suman Shrestha of Chaturmala Higher Secondary School, Baburam Pant of Jharkapuri Primary School, Sobit Dhakal of Muchchokatar Lower Secondary and Netra Devkota of Devi Chaturmala Primary School.
