CA will not be dissolved until statute is promulgated: PM

Inaugurating the event, the prime minister said that the Constituent Assembly (CA) term will be extended for as long as the task of constitution drafting does not complete.

“If we study past international cases we find that they had not fixed the term of the CA or any other constitution drafting body but we did. Therefore, we are facing time constraints,” argued the prime minister. He was of the view that the international experience showed it took at least four to five years to draft a new constitution from a CA.

The prime minister also claimed that the intra-party feuds have hindered the constitution making process.
