Flights put on hold for hours in sky due to low visibility at TIA

KATHMANDU, March 12: Adverse weather conditions and poor visibility have affected both domestic and international flights on Wednesday afternoon.

According to General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Jagannath Niraula, some aircraft were put on hold in the sky due to low visibility caused by adverse weather conditions.

The airport authorities said that a Nepal Airlines flight from Narita, Japan, was held in the air for some time before landing.

According to the TIA, flights from Qatar Airways arriving from Doha, Air India from New Delhi, Batik Air from Kuala Lumpur, Fly Dubai from Dubai, Fly Dubai from Bhairahawa, Buddha Air from Dhangadhi, and Yeti Airlines from Pokhara were put on hold due to low visibility.
