Region no 1, 2, 3 and 6 (Biratnagar, Birgunj, Kathmandu and Baitadi ) are placed in group A and Region no 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9 (Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Janakpur, Pokhara and Mahendranagar) are placed in group B for nine-day long tournament. [break]
The event will be held across three different venues in the capital. Region no 8 (Pokhara) will take on Region no 7 (Janakpur) in the opening match at Engineering ground. Top two teams from either group after the round robin league will book the ticket for semifinal.
The final will be held on November 16. Meanwhile, Region no 3 (Kathmandu) on Wednesday declared a 14-member team for the tournament under captainship of Bibhatsu Thapa.
Moktan into third round
KATHMANDU: Veteran Nepali tennis player Pratap Moktan made it to the third round of men´s singles category in ITF Senior Tennis Championship being held in Hong Kong.
Moktan who is competing in above 45 years category received bye in the first round and defeated Hong Kong´s Wong Brush 6-4, 7-5 in the second round, states a bulletin issued by the National Sports Council (NSC) on Wednesday.
