At the event, actor Arpan Thapa explained the theme of the film with the help of sign language. “The film is more about making you feel rather than explaining the story, so that’s why I tried using sign language. But learning the language was difficult,” he said.[break]
Actor Namrata Shrestha also said, “We learnt sign language for the film as it’s a love story between two people who can’t speak. It took us two months to learn the language and it was pretty hard.”
The actor also added that it’s now become easy to converse with people with speech impairment. “Though learning it was difficult, I feel happy when I get to use it from time to time,” she said.
‘Maun’ is scheduled to be released on September 27.
The film is directed by Suraj Bhusal who has worked as an assistant director in films like ‘Dhanda,’ ‘Batch no 16,’ ‘Dhuwani’ and ‘Kathmandu.’
Sugam Pokhrel and Swopnil Sharma have provided music for the film.
