KATHMANDU, Dec 18: In order to encourage the students to exhibit their talents and to enhance cordial relation between the A Level colleges of the capital, a two day convention was organized by, “Take A Step Foundation”, the umbrella foundation of Saipal Academy.

The unexpected call for banda acted as a hindrance for some of the scheduled programs to continue.

“Due to the banda we were forced to send back some of the students. We had also expected around 100 donors for the blood donation program but only 50 of them were able to make it,” said Lokraj Giri, Head of the Institutions and President of Cambridge Educators’ Association in Nepal (CEAN).

But that didn’t stop the spirit of the organizers and the participants. “The overall program was a success since it was an amalgam of both outdoor games and intellectual activities,” added Giri.

The open presentations had both individual and team presenters who presented on themes of environmental issues and peace among others which were done through powerpoint slides and graphics.

The 3 on 3 basketball finals also took place on Saturday. Gems Institute of Higher Education bagged the first prize, while Ace Institute of Management’s score got them the second position and Modern Indian School stood third respectively.

The banda, however, compelled the organizers to postpone the closing ceremony and the prize distribution to Monday.

The nine A-Level colleges that participated in the overall activities were Ace Institute of Management, Chelsea International Academy, Modern Indian School, National Campus, Saipal Academy, Xavier International College, Kathmandu Academy, AJW College, and Gems Institute of Higher Education.
