ILLAM, Feb 27: A tipper fatally struck a father and son in a road accident at Haspokhari of Rong Rural Municipality-3, along the Mechi Highway.
According to the police, 40-year-old Dhirghraj Rai and his 70-year-old father, Pawan Kumar Rai, from Phajigaun, Suryodaya Municipality-6, died in the crash. They were returning home from Jhapa when a tipper (Ko 1 Kha 6462) coming from the opposite direction hit their motorcycle (Province 1-03-001 Pa 1585), which Dhirghraj was riding.

The collision left both critically injured. Rescuers rushed them to B&C Hospital in Jhapa, but they succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
Police have arrested the tipper driver, 30-year-old Khagendra Thami from Shanti Chowk, Maijogmai Rural Municipality-2, Ilam.
