The participants of the programme of interaction on the role of media in the development of local bodies expressed collective resolve to develop the town as a model one. The interaction was organized by the Surunga Press Club on Saturday.
An eight-point Surunga Development Declaration was also issued on the occasion. Among other things, the Declaration states that the journalists would remain committed to their responsibility towards maintaining transparency in every activity of the Kankai Municipality.
Likewise, the Declaration stresses on maintaining working unity among the local units of the political parties, the stakeholder bodies and journalists to move ahead in an institutionalized manner for the development of the infrastructures and for publicizing the religious, cultural, historical and natural uniqueness of the area for its tourism development.
