Economic policy suggestion committee submits report

KATHMANDU, July 10: A high-level committee formed to suggest economic policy for the upcoming budget submitted its report to the Minister for Finance Shankar Prasad Koirala on Wednesday.



The committee led by Rabindra Kumar Shakya, vice chairman of the National Planning Commission (NPC), has given suggestions on issues like economic development target, domestic borrowing, production growth, domestic and foreign employment, remittance and inflation and agricultural production, among others, according to a press statement issued by the finance ministry. Receiving the report, Minister Koirala assured the committee that the government would incorporate its suggestions in its economic policy. Auditor General Bhanu Prasad Acharya, Finance Secretary Shanta Raj Subedi, Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Yubaraj Khatiwada, NPC Secretary Yubaraj Bhusal and Chief of Economic Policy and Analysis Division of MoF Baikuntha Dhungana were in the committee.
