“Prime Minister Dahal, who had won everyone´s heart when he resigned over the army chief row, is now facing criticism from all quarters as he is continuing to obstruct House meetings. It is in the interest of the country to let the parliament session continue,” he said Tuesday at a press meet here.
He requested the Maoist party to open the way for parliamentary meetings and look for alternatives to its protest strategy. He pointed out that the Unified CPN(Maoist) has failed to build trust among other political forces in the country even though the PM´s decision to quit was a correct move.
The general secretary said his party believes that since the new constitution will be framed on the basis of consensus and collaboration, the new government should also be based on the same kind of understanding.
He further said that a government without Maoist participation will not be able to address the problems facing the country. He therefore requested the UML and NC to let the Maoists form the new government on the basis of the sheer size of their party in parliament.
