KATHMANDU, Sept. 19: Nepali market has been directly affected when the value of dollar fluctuates. It causes increase of market price in imported goods.

Likewise, the increase in dollar value benefits the exporters and the payment of loans lent form third countries gets more expensive.

In mid-May, the dollar had purchase value Rs. 85.16 and selling price Rs. 85.76 and in mid-September the purchase price is Rs. 87.29 and selling price Rs. 87.83. In June end, it had increased to purchasing price Rs. 90.94 and selling price Rs. 91.54.

Today´s price of dollar is purchasing Rs. 86.23 and selling Rs. 86.83, according to Nepal Rastra Bank. Nepal Chamber of Commerce Chairman, Suresh Kumar Basnet said the fluctuation makes much effect in exported and produced goods.

As import is six times more, the increase makes a large loss for Nepal, he said. Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Rajesh Kaji Shrestha said the fluctuation lessens trade, discourages import and increases price.
