JANAKPUR, Oct 3: Dissatisfied with the ways of the incumbent party officials, dissident Maoist faction has formed a parallel district committee in Dhanusa District. They have accused the current district party officials of misusing their power and deviating from the party line.

In the newly formed committee, Ram Brikshya Thakur has been named party district in-charge, Dev Narayan Shah deputy in-charge and Manish Jargha secretary. [break]

However, Madhes bureau coordinator of the party Giriraj Mani Pokharel said he is not aware of any such development. “If this has actually happened, I will have to understand the ground reality,” he said adding that he is currently busy in a program in the party´s Bhojpura state.

Maoist Mathila state in-charge, however, said that the newly formed committee is illegitimate.

He said the problem would be solved once the newly nominated Constituent Assembly (CA) member Farmud Nadaf would nominate a new person recommended by the district committee in his place.

The Maoist party had nominated Nadaf in place Matrika Prasad Yadav who defected from the party. Most of the district committee officials had resigned en masse previously as well over the appointment of one Ram Chandra Mandal as chairman of Janakpur Region Development Council.
