Disqualified combatants shut Dang

TULSIPUR, Oct. 2: Normal life in Dang has been affected since early this morning on Tuesday due to a two-day mid-western region strike called by the disqualified People´s Liberation Army (PLA).



Vehicles en route to short and long routes have remained off the road owing to the strike, said the District Police Office, Dang. [break]



The banda organizers have demanded that a tag of disqualified to them be removed, a financial package to them as given to the combatants opting for voluntary retirement and transparency of UN-founded peace fund, among others.



Markets, industries, factories and business sector have been closed due to the strike. The Dang section along the East-West highway has seen no movement of vehicles.
