DIGs interviewed for promotion

KATHMANDU, April 18: A three-member panel formed to recommend the names for the promotion to Additional Inspector Generals (AIGs) in Nepal Police on Saturday interviewed eight prospective Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs). The DIGs interviewed to fill five vacant AIG positions include Bharat GC, Prakash Kunwar, Sharada Bhakta Ranjit, Arjun Jung Bahadur Shahi, Madan Khadka, Naresh Gurung, Kalyan Timalsena and Kiran Gautam.



The interview was taken at Nepal Police Headquarters. The Home Ministry had formed the panel comprising Home Secretary Dr Gobinda Kusum, Law Secretary Madhav Poudel and Nepal Police’s IGP Ramesh Chanda Thakuri to name the AIGs. The panel is set to recommend the names for promotion on the basis of individual candidate’s work performance, past achievements and future work plans. Officials at the Home Ministry said similar interview will be carried out to fill four vacant positions of AIGs in the Armed Police Force.
