KATHMANDU, March 13: Musician Khagendra Kumar Limbu, popularly known as Khagendra Yakso, has come out with his second album as a composer. Four out of five songs in the album, titled 'Destination 2,' has been penned by Yakso himself. Singer Dipak Limbu has lent his voice to the songs.
Yakso, who has been in the music industry for more than 18 years, has sung several folk songs and has more than 15 folk albums to his credit. "People suggested me to sing modern songs, too, but my voice doesn't quite seem to suit in that genre. Therefore, I started writing modern songs that mostly talk about our society, culture, nature, and sometimes love. Most of my compositions are classical and folk-based," he shares.The songs of 'Destination 2,' however, deal with longing for the beloved and inspire celebration of life. Limbu says the songs will appeal to Nepali listeners who appreciate modern songs with a hint of classical and folk flavor.
Produced by Yuma Cassettes and Culture Center, music for the album have been arranged by Maharaj Thapa, Tekendra Yakso, Ashok Lohorung and Chandu Gorkhali.
