KATHMANDU, 24 July: Solidarity for Dr Govinda KC Alliance has announced to stage a bigger protest outside Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Tangal on Monday to condemn the police action in a peaceful protest.
Issuing a press release, the Alliance has also demanded to immediately release those arrested during today’s protest.

Police had lathi-charged and had arrested 10 protesters during a sit-in that was staged by hundreds of Dr KC supporters.
“Hundreds of security personnel were deployed to suppress the protest,” reads the statement, “We call for a bigger protest for tomorrow against the police’s suppression in the protest and CIAA’s arbitrariness.”
