“More than two-thirds majority of the former CA members, Nepal Bar Association and Civil Society have already objected to the decision. So we draw the attention of the international community to reconsider their decision to support the Regmi-led government,” the statement further said.
UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) had recommended the president to remove constitutional difficulties to form a chief justice led government and to conduct fresh polls.
The press statement says that 24 parties express serious objection to the decision.
“The CPN-Maoist had also submitted a memorandum to the president urging him not to endorse the decision of the four political forces,” reads the statement.
The party has also accused President Dr Ram Baran Yadav of violating the constitution by endorsing the decision of the four political forces.
“Formation of chief justice-led government has undermined the independence of the judiciary as well as the role of political parties in a democracy,” the statement added.
