KATHMANDU, Sept 1: The Patan Appellate Court on Tuesday issued an interim order against the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA)'s 15th annual general assembly scheduled to begin from Wednesday. The court has asked the football governing body of Nepal not to conduct the general assembly until Thursday.

Responding to the case field by the dissatisfied faction of ANFA led by Vice-presidents Karma Chhiring Sherpa and Bijay Narayan Manadhar and member Pankaj Nembang, a single bench of judge Mohan Bahadur Karki made such decision. Meanwhile, the executive committee meeting of the ANFA held on Tuesday also decided to call off the annual general assembly until Thursday citing technical reasons. The court issued the interim order on the basis of facility and balance of the petitioners. The court has called both the sides for discussion on Wednesday. In the complaint, the dissatisfied members have claimed that the ANFA did not inform them about the annual general assembly 60 days prior to the annual meeting as per the statute of the ANFA. They have also alleged NSC Member Secretary and Minister for Youth and Sports of keeping mum despite their demands to annul the general assembly. Few days earlier, the dissatisfied faction of ANFA had submitted a letter of memorandum to the Minister for Youth and Sports Purusottam Paudel and NSC Member Secretary Keshav Kumar Bista demanding the annulment of the general assembly.

The dissatisfied faction had filed a case against the Sports Ministry, Sports Minister, the NSC, NSC's Member Secretary, ANFA President and General Secretary.

ANFA, which has been plagued by internal disputes since last two years, was previously grilled by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Legislature-Parliament, Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority. Last year's annual general assembly of ANFA was also cancelled following the directives of the PAC.
