KATHMANDU, May 16: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order not to immediately implement the government's decision to distribute Rs 200,000 each to disqualified Maoist combatants. A single bench of Supreme Court Justice Kumar Regmi issued the order on Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, May 16: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order not to immediately implement the government's decision to distribute Rs 200,000 each to disqualified Maoist combatants. A single bench of Supreme Court Justice Kumar Regmi issued the order on Tuesday.


Advocate Gyanendra Raj Aran had filed a writ petition against the government's decision to distribute money to the disqualified fighters.

During the initial hearing of the writ petition  on Tuesday, the Supreme Court issued an interim order not to implement the government’s decision until the final verdict. The Supreme Court has called both parties for further discussion on the matter.
