KATHMANDU, Oct 29: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Thursday said he is confused with the Maoists’ stance and reiterated that the government is for the consensus with the Unified CPN (Maoists).

“Different [Maoist] leaders have expressed different things in different times, so I am also confused,” PM Nepal said while debriefing the parliamentary party meeting of the CPN-UML.

He however reiterated that the government would continue to reach consensus with the Maoists.

Referring to his talk with Maoists chairman Pushpa Kama Dahal, PM Nepal said that Dahal told him that Maoists’ priority was not the government but establishing the civilian supremacy.

He also added that the issue of disruption in the parliament to peace process all depended on the Maoists.
