CIAA orders scrapping of land transfer

KATHMANDU, July 12: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Tuesday ordered the Land Revenue Office Bhaktapur to scrap the latter´s decision to transfer nearly 49 ropani of government land to the ownership of an individual.



Concluding that 48 ropani and 14 ana land in Dibeshwari VDC-9 in Bhaktapur belongs to the government, the CIAA directed the Land Revenue Office to revoke its prevision decision to transfer the land to the ownership of Gunamaya Chakradhar. [break]



"The commission hereby orders Bhaktapur Land Revenue Office to transfer 48 ropanis and 14 ana land of plot number 314 and 315 to the ownership of the government and furnish progress report within a month," reads the decision.
