Chess team off to Orissa

KATHMANDU, June 4: Nepali chess team left for Orissa in India to participate in the First International Open Grandmaster Chess Tournament.



The team comprises 25 players and three officials. National champion Badri Lal Nepali, Fide Master Manish Hamal, Bimal lal Shrestha, Sujendra Prasad Shrestha and Nikesh Duwal are among the players.



The winner will bag Rs 320,000 cash prize while the first and second runners up will bag Rs 182,000 and Rs 120,000 respectively.



The tournament will run from June 7-14.
