At the meeting held at Hotel Dwarika in the capital, UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ´Prachanda´ informed that process for Constituent Assembly (CA) election was moved ahead from consensus of major parties and political transition was about to be ended. [break]
He said his party had made a special sacrifice for it and environment was created for consensus among parties, Dahal´s aid Shiva Khakurel quoted him as saying.
Dahal said the party played a key role even if it was in government and worked in view of the nation´s need.
On the occasion, Carter Center Chairman Carter lauded the role played by UCPN-Maoist for consensus.
Carter said the role of the UCPN-Maoist was important for reaching the peace process to logical end and there will be its important role in making the election successful.
The former US President also lauded the role played by UCPN-Maoist as largest party in the past CA and expected the same in the next.
Carter also urged for formation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and requested for election observation in the next CA election.
He also assured every cooperation for making election successful, said Khakurel. Also present during the meeting was UCPN-Maoist and former Prime Minster Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.
