CA member Pandey sworn in

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Constituent Assembly Chairman Subash Nembang on Monday administered the oath of office and secrecy to Nepali Congress CA member Achyut Pandey. The NC recommended Pandey´s name after former Chief Justice Bishwanath Upadhyaya refused the CA seat. Earlier, the government had nominated NC-recommended Upadhyaya as CA member. Pandey was General Secretary of the NC-aligned trade union. Several NC leaders had earlier protested against Pandey´s nomination by NC President Girija Prasad Koirala saying it was done without consulting the party.
