KATHMANDU, June 30: The meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) summoned for 2 pm on Tuesday afternoon has been postponed till 6:30 pm this evening.
CA Secretariat said the meet was deferred to transcribe agreement reached among parties yesterday night.
Maoist Central Committee meeting postponed till Thursday
On Monday, the CA meet was rescheduled for three times as disputes surfaced among major parties. At last, the meeting had ended only by passing a condolence motion on the demise of former lawmaker Padma Sundar Lawati.
“Parties already forged accord yesterday. The meet called this afternoon was put off till evening to facilitate transcribing of the accord,” said Assistant Spokesperson at the CA Secretariat Sudarshan Kuinkel.
Parties reached a gentleman's agreement on disputed issues on late Monday night after the UCPN (Maoist) objected the draft of the new statute readied by the Constitution Drafting Committee.
