Maoist Central Committee meeting postponed till Thursday
Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Leader Thapa was appointed the CM on Tuesday with the support of CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist) Party and Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP). Nepali Congress Chief Whip Bhupendra Rai said that the time of the oath-taking ceremony has been postponed because the distribution of the ministries has not been finalized yet.
“Along with Thapa, today, one minister from the coalition parties is also preparing to take oath. In the past, ministers without portfolios were appointed; now preparations are underway to assign them ministries when they are appointed," Chief Whip Rai said.
Within the ruling coalition, there has been agreement that the CPN (Maoist Center) will claim the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning.
The CPN (Unified Socialist) party has claimed the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure. However, CM Thapa is not ready to give the physical infrastructure ministry to the CPN (Unified Socialist).
