KATHMANDU, Sept 17: Bikash Bogati claimed the title of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour Qualifying School on Thursday at the par-67 Royal Nepal Golf Club in Kathmandu.
In the third and final day of the tournament, Bikash carded two-over 69 for the total score of nine-over 210 during the 54-hole event.

Overnight leader Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi finished runner-up after he carded eight-over 75 in the final day. He finished with total score of 13-over 214. Shivaram Paudel scored six-over 73 for total score of 19-over 220 to settle for the third position.
The top three golfers earned pro card for the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2015-16 season. Surya Nepal Central Open to begin from September 28 at the Gokarna Golf Club will mark the beginning of the season.
On Thursday, Bikash played two-over 35 on the front nine with bogeys on the sixth and ninth holes. In the back nine, he played even-par 34 with birdies on the 11th, 13th and 14th holes, while he faced bogeys on the 12th, 15th and 18th holes.
Nischaya, who started the day with two stroke lead, played four-over 37 on the front nine and added four-over 38 on the back nine. He faced bogey on the first and sixth holes and double bogey on the ninth hole. His back nine included a double bogey on the 11th hole and made a disastrous finish with three straight bogeys on the 16th, 17th and 18th holes. He carded a lone birdie on the 13th hole.
Third-placed Shivaram played two-over 36 on the front nine and three-over 37 on the back nine.
Altogether 12 players participated in the three-day tournament organized by Nepal PGA under the sponsorship of Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. Only three players qualified for the Surya Nepal Golf Tour as others failed to make the cut inside the tournament ceiling of 22-over in the 54-hole contest.
Meanwhile, Dinesh Nagarkoti missed the chance by one stroke after he shot six-over 73 for a total score of 23-over 224.
Nepal PGA Advisor Ghana Shyam Thapa handed over the pro cards to the top three players along with cash prizes of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively.
