The highway came into operation after the officer cleared debris.
According to RSS, traffic came to a standstill from 6 a.m. due to the landslide at Fishling of Chitwan, 15km east from Mugling, following heavy rains last night on Mugling-Naubishe section along the highway.
Scores of vehicles en route to Kathmandu from Mugling and bound for Mugling from the capital were stuck mid-way, affecting thousands of passengers.
According to our correspondent, roads was also blocked at Jogimara, Mauwakhola and Gajuri of Dhading following the rainfall.
