"The incident had been engineered to derail the constitution drafting and peace process," Maoist Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma told Republica.
He said the Maoist party has urged the government to put in efforts to maintain law and order situation in the country.
The Maoists have also expressed concern over the revival of criminal cases lodged against party cadres during the insurgency period.
Maoists are particularly concerned about the revival of the case involving the murder of Mukti Nath Adhikari, who was killed by Maoists during the insurgency.
The kin of Adhikari have filed a case at District Police Office, Lamjung against three Maoist party cadres.
Sharma also said that some other criminal cases blamed on the Maoists during the insurgency are also being revived in an attempt to derail the peace process.
Maoists said they would nominate new ministers from the party on Thursday.
"The prime minister has asked us to wait for a few days," party standing committee member Netra Bikram Chand told Republica.
The home ministry has long been a bone of contention between the Maoists and the UML.
Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal had pledged to give the home ministry to the Maoists, but UML leaders KP Oli and Madhav Kumar Nepal are against giving the Maoists any security-related ministries.
